STS 130 Space Shuttle Endeavour

The adventure of a lifetime: I discovered that viewing a launch was an amazing thing to do in November, 2008 when I watched the launch of STS 126 Endeavour from the shore of the Indian river in Titusville. At that moment, I vowed to come back and watch a launch from the closest location that I could. When STS130 tickets went on sale, I was right in there and got them online. I bought the maximum allowed - 6 - because I hoped that I could put a group together to go. I found 2 members of my astronomy club that took a pair, and a 3rd member of my club took his wife and young daughter separately. We were so lucky that the launch was only scrubbed the one day. I had to call in and take a day off work to stay for the Monday morning launch but I got some pictures and some memories! I understand the trials and tribulations of people that have endured scrub after scrub. There are no guarantees with this process, and its possible that many of the people that had planned to watch it Sunday morning could not take the Monday off work to try again. I'm very fortunate, and then at the end of the mission, after Endeavour had separated from ISS a beautiful Sunday morning flyby directly overhead on landing day, and I was able to catch these images.
